MLB Network’s Ballpark Cam system was installed at Busch Stadium in 2009, and Kaufman Broadcast has provided the technical support since its inception. The award winning system consists of two cameras; one in center field used for live look-ins during games, and one in the Cardinals’ dugout used for interviews. The cameras are controlled remotely from MLB Network’s studios in Secaucus, New Jersey.
Fox Sports Midwest’s correspondent, Jim Hayes, featured in the above photos, has been a frequent guest of MLB Network’s 24/7 coverage of the MLB season. The Kaufman technicians are there to assist in any way necessary. From providing the talent their microphone and IFB, to helping get the shot framed and lit, the technicians do whatever it takes to make the shot look and sound great. You never know who they might run into …
The MLB Network’s BallPark Cam was the 2012 winner of the Gold Edison Award for Innovation, and received a Sports Emmy nomination for the George Wensel Technical Achievement Award.
