Most nights, I come home from work and my family sits down for dinner. It’s a chance for us to share our day and catch up as a family. We each answer the question: “So, how was your day?”
Lately, my answer has been the same: “My day was busy.”
Well, I’m done with that answer. I don’t particularly like saying “my day was busy” and not being specific about what I accomplished. Sometimes I feel like I lose control of my day. We plan on accomplishing X for a certain day and through many twists, emails and phone calls, we end the day solving for Y. While it’s good to solve for Y, time has run out and we still need an answer for X.
My plan is to make a change: start making note of my achievements and celebrate them with my family. Tonight at the dinner table my answer will be “I wrote my blog for the website.” Sure sounds a lot better than “I was busy.”
